The 59 Buick has probly the most pissed off, powerful, and bad ass looking front end designs of any car ever. That is all
You gotta love 50's pink.
and I love that it looks great stock, or kustom, or low rider, hotrod, I bet it could even pull off ratrod but I couldn't find any pics of one. This car if just magnificent.
oh and did I mention it has some bitchin fins too?

I'm really confused by Buick. it seems like this car was called the Lesabre, Invicta, and Electra?
were these names just trim levels?

Honestly, I wouldn't paint the first one. Just fix everything else. That thing looks badass.

pretty much. Invicta was the high line model, with the Lesabre and Electra coming in below, not always with the 401 nailhead either.

Yeah, as bad-ass as Christine was, she should have been a 59 Buick.

Its brother-from-another-mother was the '61 Plymouth. Also quite peevish.

My elderly neighbor used to have one of these (4-door). When he sold his house, he sold the car, too. I didn't have the money at the time, and couldn't save it. Now that I'm getting close to having the money, I wish I had that to do over again.
These cars are so awesome...

I've actually never been a huge fan of the look of a big blower. I'm not sure why. I think, given the chance, I would just make it faster, straight pipe it, and make it low as hell. A guy I worked with had an Electra (I think it was a 66, so not as angry looking) that he did exactly that with. The paint sucked, it was extremely low, and it had a newer crate engine and straight pipes, so it went like hell and you could hear it from almost a half mile away (work was over a quarter mile from the highway, and you could hear him getting on when he left).

They were separate models. But the way car companies worked back then was that all their cars were full size, and they all used the same body shell.
The LeSabre was on the shorter wheelbase B-body platform, while the Electra and Invicta used the longer C-body shared with Cadillac and the bigger Oldsmobiles, but the C was basically just a stretched B.
Buick didn't start selling cars smaller than full-size until the Senior Compacts debuted for 1961.

I guess you could say car companies still do that to an extent.m with the whole corporate face thing.
"Yes, I'd like one bmw sedan. Please."
"Of course, would you like that in small , medium, large, or xl?"
